'Slow Fashion' is an on-going effort to counteract the waste in the textile market. It is meant to slow down the rapid pace of clothing consumption/waste. These designers only produce what is ordered with the intent for consumers to buy fewer, better quality items intended to be passed on, reused, redesigned or recycled. A circular system where today’s fashion throwaways are tomorrow’s raw materials, they are upcycling post-consumer waste, fabric scraps, plastic waste and more innovative approaches to combat the waste. Many use organic fibers, which means they have no plastic and when they can no longer be used, they will naturally biodegrade.

Black Wagon Kids Boutique supports the 'slow fashion' movement by purchasing clothing mainly from these suppliers. We seek them out. They utilize materials that can be reused/recycled cleanly. Black Wagon Kids Boutique looks for quality that lasts for many years, with the intent to be passed on. Mostly organic or natural fibers, produced in ethical conditions where workers are treated and paid fairly.
